SpiritFunder is the official crowdfunding platform of Western Kentucky University. It features opportunities to support the University’s unique and diverse research projects, student initiatives, and socially compelling activities. SpiritFunder is where your gift — big or small — can make a tremendous impact.

Is my contribution tax-deductible?

Yes! 100 percent of your gift is tax-deductible. Gifts to projects featured on SpiritFunder are considered charitable contributions to Western Kentucky University.

Does my crowdfunding gift count toward WKU’s Annual Fund?
Yes! Your support through the SpiritFunder platform is an essential component of Annual Giving at WKU.

Will I receive a receipt for my contribution?

Yes! You will receive a gift acknowledgment and tax receipt from WKU.

When will my credit card be charged?

Your credit card will be charged immediately upon finalizing your gift on SpiritFunder.

Whom should I contact with questions about my contribution?

What happens if a campaign doesn’t meet its funding goal?

If a project does not meet its funding goal, collected funds will be used either to partially support the current project or toward other related initiatives.

What happens if a campaign is overfunded?

If a project exceeds its funding goal, additional project funds beyond the stated goal amount may be used toward the project. Any funds available after the project ends may be used to benefit other related projects.
